Hummus

Hummus (About 1.5 cup)

Ingredients:

  • Chick Peas (rinsed and drained with net weight 250g) 1 can (400g)
  • Lemon Juice (60ml) ¼ Cup
  • Tahini (60ml) ¼ Cup
  • Garlic 1 clove (Chopped)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 Tablespoon
  • Cumin Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Water 3 tablespoons
  • Pinch of Paprika

Instructions

  1. Blend Tahini and lemon juice for 1 minute, scape the mixture and blend for 30 seconds more to make the paste smoother.
  2. Mix olive oil, garlic and cumin powder and ½ teaspoon of salt in Tahini mixture, blend for 30 seconds. Scrape the mixture and blend for further 30 seconds.
  3. Add half of the chick peas into the mixture and blend for 1 minute. Scrape the mixture and add the remaining chick peas, blend for 2 minutes till the chick pea mixture is thick and smooth.
  4. If the hummus is too thick, slowly add a few tablespoons of water to have the desired consistency.
  5. Add some olive oil and paprika on the hummus, apply on pita bread or other bread or soda cracker.
