Green Tea Steamed Sponge Cake

Ingredients
Plain Flour |

Green Tea Powder |
¾ tsp |
Baking Powder |
1½ tsp |
Raw Sugar |
25g (2 tbsp) |
Egg |
1 piece |
Skimmed Milk |
60 ml |
Oil |

Banana slices |
32 g (8 slices) |
Procedure
- Beat together egg and sugar, mix in milk and oil,
- Sieve flour, green tea powder and baking powder into a mixing bowl and make a well in the centre, pour in the egg mixture.
- Line 8 tart shells (2 inches diameter) with paper cups and half filled with the batter, put a slice of banana and fill with batter to the top of the paper cups
- Steam over medium high heat for about 10 minutes.
Cooking Tips
- Do not over beat the egg and sugar.
- When steaming the cake, open the lid of the steamer or pot after 5 minutes so as to avoid over rising of the cake.
Remarks
- Banana is used as an ingredient for its natural sweetness; the sponge cake can be used as dessert or snack.
- Each cake contains 85 Kcal, 11g CHO, 3.2g fat, 2 g protein, 0.4g fibre, 27.7 mg calcium
