Lung Cancer Awareness Month 2025

Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung cancer is not only the most common cancer in Hong Kong but also the No.1 cancer killer. With over 5,000 new cases diagnosed annually, each number represents a family facing immense challenges. This June-July, Maggie’s Centre presents "Lung Cancer Awareness Month", offering a series of activities to support patients and their loved ones:
Medical Expertise: Talks by Western and Chinese medicine specialists
Holistic Support: Patient support groups, exercise workshops, and relaxation sessions
Healing Through Nature: Free copy of “Maggie’s Centre Botanical Illustrated Guide”

Let’s stand together with lung cancer patients and families — transforming care into hope.

Maggie's Centre Botanical Illustrated Guide: Where Nature Meets Healing】

When cancer patients step into Maggie's Centre with anxiety, the plants at its entrance offer the first gentle embrace— the serene little garden, tranquil pond, and unique "Mindfulness Path" do more than purify the air; they cleanse the spirit, quietly accompanying patients through their treatment journey and helping them restore inner peace.

This guidebook is a collaborative effort by:

  • Dedicated Centre users' who contributed ecological notes
  • In-depth interviews, writing, photography, and design by HKBU School of Communication PR students
  • Centre users sharing heartfelt stories of how Maggie’s Centre supported them through illness

Visitors can follow the guide to explore the garden, discover nature's healing power with every step, and learn to embrace the present moment.
